Just then, the mole emerged from underground and informed Zazu that hyenas were in the Pride Lands. Before long, Simba pounced and pinned Zazu to the ground, which amused Mufasa. Horrified, Zazu protested the idea, but Mufasa indicated for him to turn around, and so Zazu did so reluctantly. Once Scar had departed, Zazu comforted Mufasa by reminding him that every family had a bad egg and that his own family had two. Zazu asked why not, and Scar explained that Mufasa had more brute strength than he did. Incited, Mufasa asked Scar if he was challenging him, but Scar claimed that he was not. Annoyed at Zazu for distracting him and letting his prey escape, Scar commented sarcastically that he was afraid, then began to advance on Zazu.
